Eddie Weekes Pulls Out Of Triathlon

Breaking news is that former professional footballer Eddie Weekes has withdrawn from the triathlon due to his commitments to marshalling duties. Eddie has become a key member of the event team in 2011 and we have requested that he remains in the team and he has committed to enter a triathlon in 2012!!!…..thanks Eddie!! Amended Date – Course Improvement

Hi All, Just to say that we have moved the date of the race by 1 week to the 13th August. We have also amended the full triathlon route due to athletes feedback. We believe that it is essential to listen to the athletes and deliver a race that you want!!! we have removed the wall section and we will be using a safer fire track to bring you back to the bottom of the valley. ENTIES ARE NOW OPEN!! hope to see you there.

An amazing location, distances for all which makes it a perfect Family Event!!

We have excellent news that Neath and Port Talbot Council have once more committed to supporting The 2011 Cymmer Triathlon and with the success of the 2010 full route, an excellent novice distances for first time athletes and quality tri stars categories this event is one for the whole family.

The event will be opening for entries soon. Keep any eye on the website for further details.

New Full Distance Route

Hi All, Not long now and we have designed an new full distance route which takes in some amazing single track sections. Don’t worry if you are not an experienced off-road rider as it is achievable for riders of all abilities. Single track riding is SO much fun as long as you ride within your ability.

Also due to an infection in the forest all athletes young and old will need to wash thier bikes before leaving the race location to help prevent the spread of the disease.

Lastly due to the heatwave that we always have with Cymer triathlon!! please also bring insect replant to help keep our small friends away!!

Happy New Year to you all and We hope that you are all getting ready for another exciting year of racing?

Just to let you know that this years race will take place on 07/08/10. We aim to have the ability to enter online live by the end of January. In the mean time you can keep an eye out for news on all of Tri and Enters ever growing list of high quality events by visiting www.triandenter.com as we will put a link on there when we are ready to launch.

The exciting news is that this year’s full distance race is the Welsh off-road triathlon championships. The race will still attract and welcome athletes of all abilities.

We do have limited places in all our races and there has been a massive amount of interest in this year’s calendar so we would advise you to enter early.

15^th May – Gower Duathlon – Rhossili – Welsh championships – 10k run – 40k bike – 5k run & 5k run – 24k bike – 3k run.
26^th June – Mumbles Mile Triathlon – Mumbles Gower – 750m open water swim – 32k bike – 5 k run & 750m swim – 21k bike – 2.5k run.
24^th July – Activity Wales Gower Triathlon – Port Eynon, Gower – Sprint distance 750m open water swim – 24k bike – 5k run.
7^th August – Cymer of Road Triathlon – Cymer, Port Talbot – Welsh championships – Various distances as well as tri star race categories.
24^th/25^th/26^th September – Long Course Weekend -Tenby, Pembrokeshire – 2.4 mile swim 24^th – 112 mile bike 25^th – 26.2 mile run 26^th.
2^nd October – Fancy Dress Triathlon – Tenby, Pembrokeshire – Sprint distance – 750m open water swim – 24k bike – 5k run – fun weekend with a party to end all parties to finish the season off with some serious fun.
